Turning Old Electronics into New Research for a Batten Cure

Batten Disease is a rare neurological disease that currently has no cure. Over time, affected children suffer mental impairment, worsening seizures, and progressive loss of sight and motor skills. Eventually, children with Batten Disease/NCL become blind, bedridden, and unable to communicate and it is presently always fatal. Batten Disease is not contagious or, at this time, preventable.

Our Orthodontic Assistant, Chris, has worked for Hutta Orthodontic Specialists for 10 years. Her son, Nathan, has Batten Disease. Click below to read Nathan’s story.

Please join Dr. Hutta, Dr. Cook and our staff in collecting old, out-dated electronics to raise awareness and find a cure for children with Batten Disease. All recyclables will be given to Batten Disease Support and Research Association (BDSRA), who will in turn collect proceeds from these donations from CFK.

CFK (Cartridges for Kids) is a recycling program that will pay BDSRA CA$H for these items. Click below to see the list of items you can donate. Your donations can be brought to either our Worthington or Dublin location.
